Bestselling Prayer Author Linda Evans Shepherd Launches Children’s Animated Series 'Happy Purple Puppy,' featuring Voice of Acclaimed Gospel Singer Babbie Mason, to Bring Faith, Love, and Fun to Little Ones.
Longmont, Colo., Feb. 23, 2025 — Linda Evans Shepherd, the beloved prayer author, presents 'Happy Purple Puppy,' an animated series designed to teach toddlers and their families timeless biblical values through colorful adventures.
“Our mission is to create a series that not only entertains but also wraps kids in the message of God’s love,” says Linda Evans Shepherd. “We want showing them they are precious and unconditionally valued.”
The series features acclaimed Gospel singer Babbie Mason as Bulah Butterfly, a nurturing character who guides Happy, the Purple Puppy, with songs of encouragement and biblical lessons. Bulah helps Happy, the Purple Puppy, played by Katie Leigh (the voice of Connie Kendall from Adventures in Odyssey), navigate adventures filled with lessons about kindness, courage, and friendship. Supporting characters Papa Dog and Mama Dog model love and affirmation, showing children what it means to be deeply valued and supported.
Each episode invites children into exciting adventures while teaching biblical truths such as forgiveness, compassion, and faithfulness.
Beyond the animation, The Happy Purple Puppy offers a robust online experience for families. The website, HappyPurplePuppy.com, features a free downloadable coloring book titled Pray with Happy Purple Puppy, helping children engage in prayer in a fun and creative way. The site also includes a blog with a continuing storyline and engaging activities for kids and parents to explore together, extending the values and lessons of the show into the home.
Additionally, a series of children’s books is being developed to complement the animated show. These books will further expand the adventures of Happy and his friends, providing families with even more ways to explore themes of love, faith, and courage together.
