“Are you ready to bear fruit, serve, shine, and discover your true identity and purpose?” asks Dawn Stephens, author of ‘The Potter and His Vessels’ children’s series
RALEIGH, NC -- Dawn Stephens, an award-winning author, illustrator, and speaker, has created The Potter and His Vessels, a four-book series designed to teach children about the loving relationship we can have with our Potter. Through her education and school administration expertise, Dawn knows how to take profound biblical principles and make them relatable to children and adults alike.
The Little Pot is a vessel created to be more than a smart paper pot, a rich coin pot, or a beautiful pot. As this vessel discovers it can grow the Potter’s fruit, it learns its identity is in what it grows instead of what it holds. “May the lessons learned by the little pot enrich all our lives! A bright and charming book to teach eternal truths.” ~ Angela Elwell Hunt, best-selling author
The Tea Pot helps us discover we were created to serve. After the potter forgives this vessel’s selfishness and washes it clean, it is ready to pour into others. What our Potter brews in us is meant to give away. “With endearing illustrations and sprinkled with a bit of humor, Tea Pot will capture the hearts of readers, young and old, and remind them how special they are.” - Crystal Bowman, bestselling, award-winning author of more than 100 books.
The Oil Lamp is a shy vessel that hides under bowls and is afraid to shine the Potter’s light. Follow its journey to the top of a pedestal and discover what it means to shine. Learn how to be the light of Christ. “Beautifully illustrated with warm, glowing hues, children will learn that each of us was created with a gift or ability that we can use to bring light and joy to others.” ~ Crystal Bowman, bestselling, award-winning author of more than 100 books.
The Small Jar is a lonely and damaged vessel that uses its wounds to help Oil Lamp overcome burnout. In this book, you’ll discover that your Potter needs you to refuel others. Your purpose is found when working with others. “The Little Pot is a wonderful story for children (and adults), reminding us how special we are when we allow God’s hand to shape our lives.” ~ Bill Myers, best-selling author and award-winning filmmaker
Bumble Bee Productions first released The Little Pot in 2010. It received a Mom’s Choice Gold Award, Disney’s i-Parenting Award, and the prestigious Dove Seal of Approval. Today, Little Pot’s story continues to grow in the additional books. Dawn hopes these stories and their deeper meaning will help others know their Creator’s love and discover their true identity and purpose.

About Dawn Stephens
Biography
Dawn Stephens is a self-proclaimed Fruit Pot! Like the main character in her first award-winning picture book, The Little Pot, Dawn is a vessel created by the Potter. While eagerly allowing her creator to produce the fruit of the Spirit through her, Dawn loves to help others discover how they can be fruit pots, too.
Like Little Pot, Dawn took a long time to discover her true identity and purpose. She searched for purpose as an educator, wife, mother, fundraising director, sales manager, business owner, and even a school principal. Her search caused her to define herself by what she held. As God continued to empty and refill her, she learned to focus instead on what He would grow through her.
As the Potter's vessel, Dawn shares how we can each discover our identity and purpose. Through children's books, blogs, and as an inspirational speaker at women's events, Christian schools, writing conferences, and churches, Dawn serves the Potter and shines His light. She helps others learn to pour out and serve in The Tea Pot. Dawn explains what it means to shine through her book, The Oil Lamp. Finally, The Small Jar helps us not grow weary or burn out. Her books, keynote speeches, and presentations tell readers that God never finishes using them.
Her creator continues to mold her while she leads a team of professional editors, illustrators, formatters, and marketers at EA Books Publishing. This allows her to help future authors share their unique stories. In her free time, she loves traveling, biking, and spending as much time as possible with her favorite little people (A.K.A., her grandkids). My youngest children are happy to take the story at face value, while my seven-year-old is twigging into the underlying allegorical message. I also appreciate the spiritual truths found within its pages.”
“A book to teach the importance of sharing and giving, and the dangers of becoming too proud. Kids will love the talking pots with endearing character traits and the potter who lovingly cares for his creations.”
“The four stories in The Potter Series will help readers learn important life lessons as they identify with the Pot characters. I never knew pots could be so adorable.”
