QUARANTINED COMIC: Chonda Pierce Says Laughter Good Medicine Against COVID-19 Crisis
NASHVILLE, Tenn.— You can quarantine a comedian, but you can’t take away her jokes.
Although best-selling female comedian Chonda Pierce has postponed her live spring comedy tour, Chonda Pierce: Live in Concert, to assure the safety of her fans during the Covid-19 crisis, the laughter hasn’t stopped. As a goodwill gesture, Pierce is bringing her prescription of heart-warming, clean comedy via Christian media to audiences who are grappling with the “new normal” of life amid coronavirus.
Pierce even launched a Facebook Live comedy event—The Quarantined Comics –that’s drawn 77,000 fans. While practicing social-distancing in early March, Chonda and a few of her fellow comedians gathered in Chonda’s living room to do what comedians do: tell jokes and laugh a lot.
